Projects

Cerebellar Development, Function and Injury

We are investigating locomotor deficits and changes in Purkinje cells (PC) electrophysiology, and how PC abnormalities are causally associated with locomotor impairment.

Neurobiology and Neurophysiology of Down Syndrome

The lab is working to answer key questions regarding the timing and source of oligodendrocyte dysmaturation and whether cell-autonomous or non-cell-autonomous mechanisms lead to altered cellular differentiation and myelination.

Oligodendrocyte Development and Regeneration

We are testing the hypothesis that ET-1 signaling between radial glial cells and Oligodendrocyte progenitor cells plays a crucial role in subventricular zone, developmental homeostasis and regeneration.

White Matter Development and Injury

Our lab is testing the hypothesis that HX-induced protracted WM immaturity arises from intrinsic (Sirt1 and Sirt2) and extrinsic (synaptic) dysregulation of OPC proliferation and OL maturation, thus affecting axonal integrity and function.
