Pursue Your Career in Immunology Research at Seattle Children’s
The relentless pursuit of discovery and innovation takes more than the right ideas. It also takes the right people, working together. The Center for Immunity and Immunotherapies (CIIT) is looking for exceptional candidates to join our quest for cures.
“I'm passionate about studying immunology because it's at the heart of understanding and treating a wide range of diseases, showcasing its pivotal role in shaping therapeutic interventions and patient outcomes.”
CIIT supports multidisciplinary research, collaboration and professional development for our faculty and staff members.

Seattle Children’s provides cutting-edge clinical care and pioneering management for severe immune disorders. CIIT programs are recognized internationally for the development of novel next-generation therapies for immunological disorders.
CIIT clinical and research programs are integrated, with a focus on both discovery and clinical translation. Our junior- and mid-level faculty members have established NIH-funded research programs, with CIIT receiving approximately $30 million in funding in 2023.
Graduate and Postdoctoral Training and Mentorship in Immunology Research
The Center for Immunity and Immunotherapies offers graduate students, especially those enrolled in the University of Washington's graduate programs in Medical Scientist Training, Immunology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Molecular Medicine and Mechanisms of Disease and Bioengineering, as well as postdoctoral fellows, meaningful lab experiences to enhance skills and be part of lifesaving discoveries. See current openings for postdoctoral fellows.
Many CIIT researchers serve as lab mentors for the Invent at Seattle Children's Postdoctoral Scholars Program, which trains early career scientists historically underrepresented in or excluded from biotech in the development of therapeutics for childhood conditions. Scholars receive support to create new "discovered here" cellular, gene or protein therapeutics that ultimately advance to clinical trials for children, all while preparing for careers in the biotech industry or academia.
Seminars and Presentations
CIIT creates an enriching environment through our:
- Seminar series
- Monthly “research in progress” meetings presented by PIs, postdocs and graduate students
- Combined journal club meetings
- Combined group meetings to collaboratively discuss projects
Medical Training
CIIT serves as a core training site for the nephrology, rheumatology, allergy and immunology fellowship programs through the University of Washington.
