About Membership

Membership with the CCTR is available for all Seattle Children's investigators. The center offers two types of membership: full and affiliate.

Full membership

Full members are expected to administer all sponsored research activity through the CCTR, share their expertise as mentors to junior faculty and participate on funding program review committees upon request. They are also expected to be active participants in the center's meetings, seminars and the annual CCTR Science Day.

New: Affiliate Membership

On January 1, 2024, a new Affiliate Membership category was created by Seattle Children's Research Institute. This category is specifically designed for established research institute investigators in good standing with their primary center with a vested interest in collaboration. Affiliate members benefit from leveraging the affiliating center’s expertise, utilizing mentorship opportunities and participating in collaborative research initiatives.

While affiliate members do not have voting rights or access to support services (e.g., space, grants administration, indirect costs), they will be able to list their affiliation on professional documents (e.g., biosketches) and websites, and attend affiliate center events.

For further information and/or questions regarding the affiliate membership process, and to access the Affiliate Membership Form, please refer to the Research Center Membership web page.

Educational programs and funding opportunities

CCTR's funding and educational programs are designed to foster new investigators and new ideas. These programs are offered only to our CCTR members. Our CCTR Program Manager, Amanda Tran Hartman, PhD, is available as your program officer to answer any questions.

CCTR scientific community

CCTR hosts a variety of yearly events for center members in order to promote engagement and scientific collaboration.

  • CCTR Science Day is an annual opportunity for staff and faculty from across CCTR to come together, make connections, and present on their research. Hosted each Spring, this event features platform speakers, a keynote speaker, poster presentations, and a panel discussion over the course of the day. A catered breakfast and lunch are provided to in-person attendees. For more information on Science Day, please refer to the CCTR Science Day CHILD Page.
  • CCTR Membership Meetings are hosted quarterly by CCTR’s Center Directors and serve as an opportunity for all members to hear from our leaders regarding important Center- and Institute-wide updates. If you have questions to submit or topics you would like to be addressed in future meetings, please reach out to CCTR@SeattleChildrens.org.
  • CCTR Scientific Seminar Series is a new quarterly event series introduced in 2023 as an additional way to foster a sense of scientific community within CCTR. This is an opportunity for CCTR faculty and staff to showcase the diverse range of research projects conducted within our center. These events feature up to two CCTR speakers with similar research topics, followed by an open discussion session. For the 2024 schedule of events, access to past recordings, and more information, please refer to the CCTR Scientific Seminar Series CHILD Page.
