Faculty Research Support Fund
Purpose
The Faculty Research Support Fund (FRSF) supports CCTR investigators in a streamlined and quick application process. Specifically, these funds are intended to:
- Initiate or complete a funded project within a $5,000 limit and award period; or
- Serve as funding for small projects that can be accomplished within a $5,000 limit and award period Award Details
Award Details
Up to $5,000 can be requested and must be fully utilized by September 30th. We highly encourage awardees to utilize their funds within 60-90 days of award. This funding program does not allow fund carryovers or no-cost extensions. Priority will be given to investigators who use Core services, are first-time applicants, or are junior faculty. We encourage applicants to apply as early in the fiscal year as possible as funds are dispersed first-come, first-serve for eligible applicants.
Examples of supported services include (but are not limited to):
- Biostatistical services: data extraction, data base consulting, data analysis
- Research coordinator: assistance with IRB application, study documents, consent forms, regulatory binders
- Laboratory services: specimen processing, shipping, storage, etc.
- Pediatric Clinical Research Center: start-up and service fees
- Radiology Clinical Research Imaging Core: assistance with radiological imaging modalities
- FTE support for current research staff
Key Dates and How to Apply
- FRSF application due dates are rolling from October through July* on the fourth Monday of each month by 5 p.m. PT.
*Please note that due to end of fiscal year constraints, only current research FTE or received invoices can be requested for funding during the July rolling due date. - Funds are allocated first come, first serve after review by CCTR Leadership.
- Notice of award status will be given 1-2 weeks from each rolling due date.
- We highly encourage awardees to utilize their funds within 60-90 days of award.
- Funds must be expended by August 31 and fully utilized by September 30.
