PPN Resource: New Resources on Dengue Fever for Clinicians

Seattle Children’s is a member of the Pediatric Pandemic Network (PPN) a network that strives to coordinate, prepare and enable high-quality, equitable, research-based pediatric care in emergencies, disasters, and pandemics. As a member, we share updates and new resources with our regional healthcare community.

On June 25, 2024, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a Health Alert Network (HAN) advisory referencing the increased risk of dengue virus (DENV) infections in the United States and through June of this year countries in Americas have reported more than 9.7 million DENV cases - the highest number ever in a single year. The Pediatric Pandemic Network has released new resources focused on the clinical care aspects of Dengue fever, with detailed insights into diagnosis, treatment, and management strategies.
