New Project ECHO Starts in November: Comprehensive Care for Pediatric Epilepsy
October 1, 2024
The University of Washington and Seattle Children’s are recruiting PCPs to join a twice-monthly, 11-session didactic series to increase access to quality comprehensive care for children and youth with Epilepsy by improving knowledge and confidence in recognition, initial evaluation, referral, and co-management of epilepsy and associated comorbidities. Didactic sessions will be led by UW and/or Seattle Children’s neurologists, epileptologists, psychiatrists, and neuropsychologists.

Participants will engage in the ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) model, a tele-mentoring platform that leverages video conference technology to connect experts with primary care teams in local communities, fostering an “all teach, all learn” approach. Project ECHO creates knowledge networks by connecting healthcare providers with an expert team through a tele-mentoring program using brief lectures and case-based presentations. Each one-hour ECHO session will consist of a short lecture (approximately 10-15 minutes) followed by a case presentation and discussion.
Registration will be capped at 60 participants – early registration is encouraged to secure your spot. This ECHO is open to providers in Washington, Alaska, Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming. Category II CME credits can be self-reported by participants.
