Duncan Seminar logo

Held every March, the Duncan Seminar, established in 1977 by Lynn T. Staheli, MD, honors the legacy of William R. Duncan, MD, a pioneering leader in pediatric orthopedics and disability care. Dr. Duncan, born and raised in Seattle, dedicated his career to improving the lives of children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. He founded numerous programs in the Northwest, including the Boyer Children's Clinic; the Cerebral Palsy Clinic at Seattle Children’s; and statewide diagnostic clinics for children with special health needs.

A nationally recognized expert, Dr. Duncan emphasized a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to pediatric care, focusing on the “whole child.” The seminar continues this vision, fostering collaboration and innovation in pediatric healthcare. Supported by Dr. Duncan’s family and key organizations, the Duncan Seminar remains a vibrant platform for advancing knowledge and care for children with disabilities.

Nursing Research Symposium logo

Held every May, the Nursing Research Symposium is a cornerstone event that celebrates and advances the role of nursing research in improving patient care and outcomes. This annual symposium provides a dynamic platform for nurses, researchers and healthcare professionals to share innovative findings, explore collaborative opportunities and discuss best practices in evidence-based care.

With a focus on fostering a culture of inquiry, the symposium highlights cutting-edge research, addresses key challenges in healthcare and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration. By equipping nurses with the tools and knowledge to lead in clinical inquiry, the event empowers participants to drive meaningful change in their organizations and communities.
