  • Biography

    Julia Mattson, MD, PhD is an attending developmental-behavioral pediatrician at Seattle Children’s Hospital and University of Washington Institute on Human Development and Disability (IHDD). She is interested in understanding and improving parent-child interactions in children with developmental disabilities, including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).  

    Dr. Mattson was born and raised in Seattle and received a BS in Neuroscience at University of Washington. She went on to complete her MD and PhD in cognitive neuroscience at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center as part of their Medical Scientist Training Program. She completed her Pediatrics residency at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago/McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University as part of their Physician Scientist Training Program.   

    Dr. Mattson completed her fellowship in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at Seattle Children’s/University of Washington. She was drawn to this field as it involves the study of human behavior and figuring out how this behavior can be shaped over time. Dr. Mattson is passionate about working in inter-disciplinary clinical and research environments and providing compassionate care for her patients and their families.
